Then Sings My Soul Saturday

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Ours has been busy but fun. We could use your prayers for both fathers. My dad and Greg's dad are both not doing well. We are very thankful for having Christmas with them, but not sure how much longer we will have either.

Thank you in advance for your prayers.

Hope you have a wonderful New Year!

Sweet Blessings,

Amy

I thought you might enjoy this one as sort of a resolution for the New Year.

Then Sings My Soul Saturday

Hello Friends,
I think I might have shared this song last year, but I love it. It's so relaxing and I love the lyrics. If you don't know Audrey Assad, you should check her out. Her voice is so soothing. It's a little different Christmas song, but reminds us that Christ came humbly to the earth to save us all.
Hope you have a great week leading up to Christmas!
Blessings,
Amy

Hi Friends,
Are you getting excited as Christmas draws nearer? I know I am. Don't forget in the all the hustle and bustle of the season to remember what the true meaning of Christmas is all about. Matthew West gives a great reminder in this new song called "The Heart of Christmas."
Hope you enjoy.

Hello Friends,
I hope you have had a great week! I'm currently at the Ghost Ranch in New Mexico at the CLASS Christian Writers Conference. Please pray for God to open doors of opportunity and direct me where He wants me to go. Also pray for my family while I'm away.
Thanks! I appreciate it. You guys are always so faithful!
This week I'm sharing a song we sang last Sunday that has been on my mind all week.
It's beautiful and I hope you enjoy it.

Our pastor has been doing a series called "On Mission for Christ." My good friend Carol at Sheep to the Right is writing a book on how we can change the world one person at a time.
This week we went to see 58. I think God is trying to tell me something! What is He telling you?

I'm off to the Epilepsy Summit this weekend to help make a change in that arena.
Hope you have a blessed weekend.

Dear Friends,
Thanks so much for all of your comments and prayers! Prayer works! I am thrilled to report that my dad's surgery went very well. The doctors removed both tumors and he was able to come right off the ventilator. He was eating solid food by Friday afternoon. He was supposed to be in the hospital until Tuesday but they released him on Sunday afternoon he was doing so well! He is giving all the praise and glory to God! He has to have radiation on his brain now and the doctor said the cancer could come back, but for right now, he is good.
And so is God!
Sweet Blessings,
Amy

Then Sings My Soul Saturday

Hello Friends,
I have a special prayer request for you this week. They moved my dad's surgery to Friday morning (today). The brain tumor they found has doubled in size in the last two weeks and they found another spot on his brain. He's very nervous and my mom is emotionally and physically drained. I'm traveling to be there for surgery (so this is a scheduled post) and hubby will be home with kids. Please pray for the doctors, the surgery, my dad and mom and my family while I'm away.

Today my quiet time was John Chapter 14. It could not have been more perfect. It says "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God. Trust also in me." I'm trusting Jesus for his perfect will and plan to be worked out.
Thanks for the prayers.
Amy

Then Sings My Soul Saturday

Hope you are all having a fabulous weekend! Just an update, I visited my Dad last weekend and he is doing better. Thanks to my wonderful husband for guest posting for me while I was away. Please continue to pray as my dad is having brain surgery on Sept. 19 th to remove the tumor they found. But I'm not worried because I know that when I call on Jesus all things are possible.
Keep that in mind as you go throughout this week.
Sweet Blessings,
Amy

Then Sings My Soul Saturday

If this one doesn't make you get up and move, something's wrong :-)
Love this song - the beat and the lyrics.
Hope you enjoy!
Blessings,
Amy

I also want to thank all of you for your prayers for my dad. He had a PET scan this week and it determined that the tumor in his brain is not cancer and the cancer has not spread anywhere else in the body. The tumor is operable so he will most likely be having brain surgery in the near future. He has a CT scan on Sept. 21 to see if the tumor on his lung is smaller or gone as a result of the chemo and radiation. Please continue to pray! Thank you!

May we never forget the beauty of the cross!
Hope you enjoy this one. I love it!
Blessings,
Amy

PS. Please continue to be in prayer for my dad. He finished his last radiation treatment on Tuesday, but had a seizure on Wednesday. He had an MRI and they found a spot on his brain where the think the cancer has spread. He will have a PET scan on Monday or Tuesday to see if it has spread anywhere else, then we will have to make a decision about whether to have brain surgery or not. Thank you for your prayers!

Then Sings My Soul Saturday

So we're not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There's far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can't see now will last forever. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 The Message

One of the coolest things about our God is that He meets us right where we are and puts us back together when it seems like life is falling apart.

Hope you enjoy this week's selection.
Blessings,
Amy

Then Sings My Soul Saturday

I totally forgot how much I love this song until I heard it this week. It reminds me that He has been there since the beginning watching over and protecting me and He's not going anywhere.

 He is.
He will always be.
Hope you enjoy!

Apparently I'm in a cycle where I'm revisiting some of the things God has told me/taught me in the past and He's speaking to me through some of the same songs I've previously posted. I hope you will bear with me with some repeats:-)
This week I'm revisiting a song by Tenth Avenue North.
The lyrics are so powerful. I'm tired of striving.
Help me to remember I don't have to earn grace.

Blessings,

Then Sings My Soul Saturday

This is a song that is a little older but I heard it on the radio today and it really spoke to me. Here I am at 40 years of age and still looking for a dream. There is a war being waged for all of our destinies but He has already won the battle! I loved the part about being able to see on His shoulders. It reminded me of sitting on your dad's shoulders to be able to get a better view. Sometimes we can't see because of all the things blocking our view but our Heavenly Father will lift us up to help us see. Sometimes I feel like I can do anything too but other times it's like I've got nothing good to bring. Do you ever feel that way? Perfection is the enemy of us all but thankfully He will help us to overcome - despite the dents in our fenders and rips in our jeans!
Sweet Blessings,
Amy

Then Sings My Soul Saturday

But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love. Psalm 33:18

May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you. Psalm 33:22

For you have been my hope, O Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth. Psalm 71:5

I love the sound of HOPE! I'm off to see my mom and dad this weekend. My dad is still doing well and has taken his third chemo treatment. The tumor is starting to shrink and he will start radiation soon. Like I said, I love the sound of HOPE!
Have a wonderful Mother's Day Weekend!
Sweet Blessings,
Amy

Ecclesiastes 3

A Time for Everything
1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

I heard this one on the radio today and it really spoke to my heart. I am so grateful to know that He is with me through every time and season - and He's with you too.

Sweet Blessings,

Amy

Then Sings My Soul Saturday

Hi Friends,
I'm so sorry I missed posting last week. We had a death in my family (my aunt) and I just didn't get to it, then the week got away from me. I hope you have a had a wonderful two weeks. Life is super busy as usual here in the Wyatt House. The end of school brings all sorts of activities and with softball, Girl Scouts and other events, we seem just get busier. In our busyness, I don't want to forget about spending time with the One who makes everything we have possible.
Hope you remember to do this too. Let's pray for each other to stay connected with HIM!
Sweet Blessings,
Amy

The hospice nurse has actually released him and the oncologist says if he is strong enough, he will start chemo next Thursday. We are so grateful for his continued improvement. Please continue to pray.

My hope is in the Lord!
Believe it or not, my dad came home from hospice this week and is doing much better. The doctors are amazed. We don't know how much time he has left, but I am praising God that I am now sure of his salvation and no matter what happens I know God is in control.

Then Sings My Soul Saturday

I've tried three times to copy the embed code from Kutless "What Faith Can Do" and for some reason it keeps kicking me out of blogger - so I don't have a video today - but here are the lyrics.

Everybody falls sometimes Gotta find the strength to rise From the ashes and make a new beginning

Anyone can feel the ache You think it’s more than you can take But you're stronger, stronger than you know

Don’t you give up now The sun will soon be shining You gotta face the clouds To find the silver lining

I’ve seen dreams that move the mountains Hope that doesn’t ever end Even when the sky is falling

I’ve seen miracles just happen Silent prayers get answered Broken hearts become brand new That’s what faith can do

It doesn’t matter what you’ve heard Impossible is not a word It’s just a reason for someone not to try

Everybody’s scared to death When they decide to take that step Out on the water It’ll be alright

Life is so much more Than what your eyes are seeing You will find your way If you keep believing

I’ve seen dreams that move the mountains Hope that doesn’t ever end Even when the sky is falling

I’ve seen miracles just happen Silent prayers get answered Broken hearts become brand new That’s what faith can do

But, I chose that song because the words have spoken so strongly to me this week.

It's been a very challenging week. My Dad had some complications with his lung cancer this week and has been in the hospital with pneumonia. They moved him to ICU today and have decided not to start his chemo until he gets stronger - if he gets stronger. It's happening much faster than we thought. My mom and my dad could definitely use your prayers.

Also my mother in law goes into the hospital Monday morning for brain surgery. They are placing a deep brain stimulator implant in to help stop her tremors. And Spencer will be in the hospital from Wednesday to Friday next week for a routine VEEG for his epilepsy. We are little overwhelmed this week. So... I'm depending on what my faith can do.

Blessings,

Amy

Just an update... my dad's pet scan came back yesterday. The cancer has not spread past his lungs but is Stage 3B which is very serious. He will start chemotherapy next week. Please continue to pray for him and my mom.

Heard this song on the way to the oncologist appt with my dad. It was just what I needed to hear.

There is power in the Name.

My dad's biopsy came back this week and it is lung cancer. They did a PET Scan today to see if it has spread and we will find out the exact stage and prognosis next Thursday. Please continue to pray for my mom and dad.

This one reminds me that my hope is in the Lord. Can't give up hope because God is faithful and He is my trustworthy Savior.
Please continue to pray for my mom and step dad. We still don't have the results from the biopsy from the tumor on his lung from Wednesday. We will hopefully know something soon.
I know God is able.

Please be in prayer for my step dad Nathan. They found a tumor on his lung yesterday and he will be going for a biopsy on Tuesday of next week. Please pray for my mom too as they go through this trial.
This song was one I needed to hear this week. I have to remember trials make us stronger.

Amy
