Then Sings My Soul Saturday

Whew! What a week. We are finally home from dog camp with Lucia and are very excited to sleep in our own beds tonight. Lucia seems to like her new home with one exception... our stairs. They are pretty steep so she is having a little difficulty getting down them. I'm just waiting on her to wipe out into my foyer table that sits across from the bottom of the staircase.
She is also not sure about where to sleep. She wouldn't stay in the bed with Spencer so we put her in the kennel, just for tonight and now she is barking. It's going to take some adjustment on all of our parts. Please pray we have a good night tonight. We are sort of starting over since this is a new environment for Lucia.

Tonight was graduation and it was awesome. I have a video I plan to post soon, I just have to figure out how to get it uploaded and onto my site. Anyone who knows how to do that... please email me. In the meantime, I want to share a few pictures and a few songs in honor of Canine Assistants Graduation.

This is Spencer with Lucia and Jennifer Arnold, the founder of Canine Assistants.

This is me, Spencer, and Lucia with our new friends Jacob, his dog Eve, and his mom Tracy. Jacob has epilepsy too.

This Spencer receiving his doggie diploma.

They didn't play Pomp and Circumstance at the graduation, but I thought it was fitting... so here it is.

Also, when you see the video of the press conference of when Spencer found out about receiving his dog, (I will hopefully post it with the graduation video) you will see Spencer said his dog would be his new best friend forever. So, since Spencer has a new best friend and because I love James Taylor... here is one of my favorites.

Thanks for joining in this week and for all of your encouragement, prayers and comments during the last two weeks. It's been "ruff" ( I couldn't resist :-) ) but I know it will be worth it.

So glad you are home. What an amazing thing for your son. I pray that the dog will be an answer to prayers for you. Enjoy being home. I love James Taylor, and oh my such an old video of him. Fun. Have a great weekend.

OH, I didn't know the title of that before .. I used to call it "the graduation march" :). Thanks - that gave me some goose bumps.

And the James Taylors' song - you've got a friend - I love, love love that! It's great to have a friend during "ruff" times :)

Have a wonderful weekend.

What a blessing about your new family addition. Your son is about to embark on a relationship that will stand the test of time. Every boy remembers the first love of his life, his dog.

Joanne :O)

p.s. I am amazed that I actually was able to think of two songs to post these past few weeks on your Sings my Soul Sat. Are you shocked or what? Pretty amazing, huh?!?

Yeahhhh home at last with our new friend Lucia! Congratulations! Way to go Spencer and Amy! It's up to you now, Lucia...we're counting on you to adjust [sorry about the stairs:(]It took the conductor of the symphony 35 sec. to prepare, that's some Pomp...the Circumstance
was GRAND...Spencer and Lucia! My 3
sometimes 4 sleep in my room in kennels, my big one-the size of Lucia sleeps in the room next to us, but he would prefer to be here.
Dogs are animals of habit. May Lucia become accostumed very soon to her new home! Glad you are home.

Look at all you had waiting!

I love James Taylor! I'm going back to bed!

Big rains left my front room flooded...I guess this is one time, I'm glad I don't have real furniture or much furniture!
Mopping water is much better than mud however like the real hurricane victims. I'm on the other side Pacific but we still had strong winds and rain. Can't imagine how the Gulf side endured.

Bless you Amy for your huge heart and many blessings and favor from God on YOU, Spencer, Greg, Mary Lyndsey and your new friend, Lucia.
She is an official family member. Praying the adjustments come easy!

Isn't it amazing how God can use our animals to minster to us? I hope that the transitions go smoothly as your dog learns her new home. I loved this song, it went right along with how I am feeling about a concern I posted on my boutcrazy blog. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Amy...me again...You got a friend (so does Spencer)...but
OUR BEST FRIEND FOREVER is JESUS!

Aren't you too young for James Taylor? You Got a Friend is from my high school days and I know that you are younger than I am cuz my babies are grown and have their own and you are just starting(yours are about the age of their kids)! Well, I'm glad you gave me a flashback to HS! I really enjoyed this! (and please Lisa,
the old video does not mean James or I are way too old! Gee!) Thanks Amy!

Congrats on the dog for Spencer! I understand about adjustments. Andrea's dog Ava was out of sorts last night. Andrea wasn't home and Ave couldn't decide where she wanted to sleep. She ended up in Andrea's bed. I felt bad for her...cause I missed Andrea too. I guess this was just a little taste of what it will be like in 3 weeks when she leave for college.

The song Pomp and Circumstance always makes me cry...I don't know why. When I hear it my eyes well up in tears. Weird huh?
I love James Taylor...and really love that song. Just call out my name and I'll come running...you've got a friend. How awesome it that!
Have a fabulous weekend!

Thanks for this opportunity to share what Jesus did for me through a simple chorus but built up a huge faith to accomplish victory over fear!

It sounds like Lucia, is going to be a blessing in your family. I will pray that she adjust quickly and that tonight be full of rest. No need to be tired in church tomorrow, right?

I have not heard anything of James Taylor's in so long. I like that song. Good to hear it again.

I have posted my Saturday song. Thanks for this opportunity to share songs and what they mean to us. Did you come up with that? It is brilliant!

Oh I loved your post. I stopped in a couple of times this week briefly and noticed the dog camp and I was totally intriqued. I didn't realize you where getting a dog. I have always wanted to train assistance dogs! I know you and your family will be so Blessed.
Please come over and visit us and read our Saturday posts. I would love to write about you next week.
Have a Blessed Weekend. And I will pray for a peaceful not "ruff" night.
