As I sit at my desk typing, I can hear Mary Lyndsey in her room singing and playing. She happens to be playing dress up. Ironically, she is dressed like Cinderella. Her sweet voice is carrying from her room to where I am sitting. Earlier this morning I was very frustrated with her as Mom's can often get when they are trying to get out the door to school. I sent her to her room to play. After all, I have a thousand things to accomplish today and I don't have time to play.
But, I just received a phone call from my husband. He told me that Steven Curtis Chapman had just lost his daughter in a tragic accident.
Please be in prayer for the family of Steven Curtis Chapman, especially for his teenage son. I can't even imagine what they are going through during this time, but I know that he will use this circumstance to bring glory to our Heavenly Father.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Shaohannah's Hope. The family has set up a blog in memory of Maria.
I think I will go play dress up and dance with Cinderella.

Heartbreaking tragedy. The Chapman family set up blog in memory of Maria where people can leave condolences. I will snuggle with my daughter a little longer tonight.

Oh that breaks my heart to hear the story of the bathtime. Don't you know his heart is aching to be "irritated" once again.
How much we take for granted and how fleeting the moments are....
This news just broke my heart yesterday. I cannot even begin to imagine the heartache of everyone, especially their precious son.

My heart just aches for that whole family. I went on the their website and clicked on the link to "meet" Maria. There it explained a little more about what had been taking place that day. All the joy and happiness that surrounded that family, and then the tragedy hit. It just really reinforced to me that none of us is immuned to circumstances in our lives that can drive us to the brink. I really am deeply sorrowful for the son who may not ever get over this completely. But, I know that the Lord will do something mighty out of this.
