You Are a Comma |
You are open minded and extremely optimistic. You enjoy almost all facets of life. You can find the good in almost anything. You keep yourself busy with tons of friends, activities, and interests. You find it hard to turn down an opportunity, even if you are pressed for time. Your friends find you fascinating, charming, and easy to talk to. (But with so many competing interests, your friends do feel like you hardly have time for them.) You excel in: Inspiring people You get along best with: The Question Mark |
I'd say this little quiz is fairly accurate... only I don't know what it says about a question mark, so I don't know if I get along best with them. If you are a question mark, please let me know so that we can see if we get along :)
Now even though this quiz says I am a comma, I sometimes feel more like an ellipsis. What, some of you may ask, is an ellipsis? It's OK to admit it if you don't know. I didn't know what it was until my friend Carol who has been graciously editing some of my writing referred to it. I didn't tell her (although now she knows if she is reading this) but I didn't know what she was referring to the first time she told me "I took the ellipsis out because you didn't need it."
I guess I didn't pay that much attention in English class. I didn't know the "official" name for those three little dots. I had to go look it up. Oh... now I get it. If you have read any of my writing... you will find... I am quite fond of the ellipsis. When I looked it up... this is what I found... and this.
Well, apparently I use it quite often. I've decided the reason is because I am quite frequently
omitting something
having an unfinished thought
or trailing off...
I most often use it because I am pausing. Usually to clean up a mess, referee a fight, answer the phone and doorbell at the same time or multi tasking a variety of other things.
And if you all do know what an ellipsis is and I am the only idiot in the blogosphere that didn't... don't tell me. Let me remain blissfully unaware.
I hope I have inspired you today... at least that's what the "blog things" quiz tells me I excel in.

Well...my friend...you are a comma because, when reading, their placement in a sentence signalizes one to stop for only the briefest of moments, then move on. And honey, you only slow down for the briefest of moments before you've got to accomplish something else on your agenda for the day. I THINK IT NO SURPRISE TO FIND OUT I'M AN EXCLAMATION POINT!!
Hey Amy - I've tagged you for a memes that just hit me. Share "7 random and weird things about myself."
Perhaps we were seperated at birth. :) I'm a comma, and well...I am so terribly fond of those three little dots. Can't even remember their name now...ellipsis? Oh, well. :) At least you aren't alone in not knowing they even had a name!
You ARE inspiring! Love ya!
Kimberly
I am a three dot lover myself. You aren't alone...I didn't have clue they had a name!
I am an exclamation point! I'm sure everyone can figure out what that means...which is kinda funny considering my post today!
That was a neat little survey thingy. I was an exclamation point! My husband said that was absolutely the truth. Hmmm- I wonder if he meant that in a good way or a bad way!!!!! :)
Blessings,
Jenifer
Well, I am a colon :). And, it pretty much is spot on. Thanks for sharing that fun little test.
Blessings!!!
Hey Amy, I'm with you...I do the same! Thanks for letting me know what they are! I had a difficult time in English class also, even in college. They discouraged greatly against writing. However, my cousins and a few friends hve commented that I should write. When I was younger, I wanted to spend time writing Children's books, especially when I retire. But because of "English teachers", who told me that I was no good, I let go of that dream. I plan on taking the little quiz, but have not done so yet! Think it's fear?
Not anymore! Blogging is freeing me...not really it is Jesus Christ who has told me who I am in Him! I receive no condemnation. Though I am/was a teacher, I pray I never crushed some little person with negative comments. May all of us watch what we say, and hold our tongue! God ahs alot to say about that in His Word! Thank you for helping me get free and the cute way you word....all you do!!!Peggy
