Ecclesiastes 4:10 If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!
I also got to visit with a lot of my old friends from ERBC, whom I miss and love dearly... and I got to see my sister and mother in love Judy and Liz. BTW... today is Liz's Birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIZ!! I miss them and love them very much, and it was great to see and fellowship with them too.
I am so blessed to have godly friends and family!
As if all this wonderful girlfriend time wasn't enough... we got to hear Carol Kent Speak. She is incredible. If you have never heard her testimony, I encourage you go buy her books "When I Lay My Isaac Down" and "A New Kind of Normal." They are both wonderful. And she and her husband Gene were so nice. They stayed until almost 10pm, making sure to sign everyone's books and taking time to speak to each person individually. They poured out hope and love on everyone there.
Wow... just when you think God is so good and you couldn't imagine Him doing more for you, He goes and "blows your socks off" again, as my friend Carol would say.
Yes... I have even more exciting news to share!
If you have been reading my posts for very long... you may remember this post about one of Spencer's seizures. In this post, I talked about deciding to apply for a seizure response dog and leaving the rest in God's hands.
Well... we did apply. And we prayed. And we got a phone call a few days later. And guess what?!
If you can't read this... it says... On April 16, Spencer is getting a new best friend!God is so good! He always meets us right at our point of need. I can hardly contain my excitement. We are flying to Chicago today for a press conference tomorrow about Spencer being selected to receive a seizure response dog from UCB and Canine Assistants.
We will actually receive our dog hopefully this summer when we attend a two week training camp. I will post more details soon. Just know that whatever your need is... take it to Jesus. He is sure to meet it.
Now that I have told you all about my friends and Spencer's new friend... I'm off. I've got to catch a flight. I will try to post more tomorrow but if I don't get to post, be sure to visit me at Writer Interrupted tomorrow for Midweek Motivation.
Sweet Blessings to you!
Amy

Thanks for the sweet words. You are my gift from God! I love you, girl! It was such a fun night. And God just doesn't ever rest. When he finishes pouring out one bucket of blessings, he reaches down to grab another and the pouring continues. I am praying for you as you travel. I am so excited for Spencer!
Carol Kent is amazing! I had the privilege of interviewing her a while back, about her book "When I Lay My Isaac Down."
That's so cool that you were able to meet up with your bloggy friend! :)
I enjoyed my visit to your blog...hope you'll stop by mine when you get a moment!
I'm so excited for your family. This is such an opportunity.

Amy, what a great update. I am really happy that you get to have the dog. You were chosen?! How cool is that. Meeting up with so many old and new friends is a blessing. Sounds like you are keeping yourself inspired and busy. Blessings!
That is great news!! And, wasn't Carol Kent an amazing speaker! I heard her last year at a ladies retreat and loved every minute of it! I loved her book, "When I lay my Isaac Down" and referred to that biblical story a lot during the medical stuff with Andon.
I'm so happy about Spencer's new best friend too! And, while I've been reading your blog for a while I failed to mention that my younger sister has horrible seizures too (actually one caused her to become mentally handicapped). I always dealt with the seizures as a small child, trying to help her through them. And, when we got a lab, he would sense the "aura" come over her before one would take over her body and would lay beside her. It was really strange but he was always there beside her.
Awesome, awesome post! I feel the same way about those type of meetings. I've had the priviledge of meeting 4 ladies so far and we connected as though we had know each other for many, many years. One I spoke of yesterday. She didn't blog, but we got connected through a friend of hers that did. God IS so good!!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Laura
