Hi! I'm Amy and I'm so glad you stopped by to visit my site. I'm a Jesus following, southern talking, recovering perfectionist, wife and mom who loves crafts and advocates for those with epilepsy by speaking, writing and spreading awareness!
I don't usually post country songs, but after watching the CMA's with my Grandma who was visiting this week, I couldn't resist. I used to listen to country all the time, but have switched over to contemporary Christian stations. I still love country music though. Watching CMA reminded me there are some awesome country songs out there. I couldn't decide between this one and and George Strait. He's one of my favorites. Maybe I"ll post him next week :-)
This is the line my Grandma said everytime I've gotten frustrated with something one of my kids have done this week.
It's a great song ~ and speaking as a Mom who has a child who is out of the home...you do miss those things! I'm still grateful for the son I have at home and remember that I'll miss the craziness of some of the things that aggravate me and try to hold my tongue!
Blessings Amy...I'm glad that you were able to enjoy a week with your Grandma and even the CMA awards. I remember that you & Carol, too like George Strait. "You're Gonna Miss This" is certainly true & very much country. I'm not a country song person so most of the songs I don't know but I did know this one. I saw you had a busy week and I did not see this posted by 11pm and so I was concerned that something had happened. It looks like Spencer had a good week, too. I pray that's true too...and continues. I know you're glad to be back home with ML, Spencer, hubby and blessed to have Grandma so seems like it was an awesome week. Enjoy the weekend!
Good Morning Laddies, I am going to be posting very shortly a beautiful song from Hillsong called "You'll Come" It is my prayer for us all, and I hope you will pass it on! God Bless.
Opps, I posted 2x's here b/c I left the wrong blog (I have 3), but it will be posted on my Blessings and Stuggles of Single Moms Blog this morning. You can get there from the other blogs as well, they are listed on the side. Thanks, Robin
Whew, I'm way now the list today! Funny - I got up to the bathroom at 5:15 and hobbled in here on my crutches to link up, and you weren't posted. LOL - It figures that the one time I do that, your post doesn't go up at midnight!
I love this sound! When of my favorite bloggy friends has her blog name as You're Gonna Miss This. If you've never been there, I suggest you check her out! She is sooooo inspirational!(if you read it, make sure to read through her story) http://pramom26.blogspot.com! Her name is Pam and she's great!
Oh, Amy...I can testify to the truth of this song...both from being a teen who couldn't wait to grow up, get married and leave home...that very teen got homesick on her honeymoon and wanted to go home, she also went home to momma the first time she got sick and momma became her best friend...the very day she got married and finally had her independance. But also from the mother's stand point...my oldest son raked havoc on our household and there were many, many days that I couldn't wait for him to grow up and leave home. Oh, how I miss him so much. We have repaired our relationship, as he has with each member of our family but he is still not living for the Lord. I wish I had him back and do things differently and hope for a better outcome. I have faith in my loving Heavenly Father and the many prayers that are reaching the throne room of heaven for Brandon across the US for the protocal's son to come home...not to me but to Jesus Christ.
I am a firm believer now and I took fore-granted the precious days with my children...both babies, toddlers and teenagers...they grow up all too fast...SO CHERISH EVERY MOMENT YOU HAVE WITH THEM...set boundaries, be firm, be consistent and pick your battles. I am doing things differently with my other son...live and learn from our own mistakes.
Thank you for allowing me to participate in "Then Sings My Soul Saturdays"...today is my first time.
I loved listening to this song and watching the slide show of your family that you have posted to the left of your blog. It was just beautiful! I love this song, too. Great choice!
I really liked the song and video. I am a country music girl at hear too especially when I spent 6 years at Ft. Sill and loved every minute of it. I changed over like you to Christian contemporary when it got real good and rarely go back to country but I still love a good country song.
I almost always cry after he sings about the kids and then says it's hard to believe but you're going to miss it. I have 5 kids ages 5 and under and I have those kinds of days...but I know pretty soon they'll all be grown up and I will miss them being young!

Grandma is right. We love the freedom we now have, but we miss the girls being little. Now we have grandchildren. Too cool! :)
God bless.
This is a good song, it does make you think about how short the time is that we have with our kids (I missed him during the show).

Oh, I love this song! How quickly time goes by. You never believe it as a kid. But, as a mama, it is too true!
Would you believe that I am going to see him on Saturday night?
Yup...our daughter just gave us two tickets for our anniversary to see Alan Jackson and Trace Adkins next weekend.
I can't wait!
p.s. my husband and I sing this song to our seventeen year old daughter all the time.
First time to visit you! Enjoyed it greatly...Thanks for the meaningful song.
I Love Trace! Great song!
