I can't believe I have a Third Grader!

Wow! How time flies. It seems like I was just rocking this little baby boy singing "You are my Sunshine" and now he is almost as tall as me! I can't believe I have a THIRD GRADER!

Spencer was very excited about starting to school today. So excited in fact that we had two little seizures, one last night and one the night before. I think it was the anxiety and anticipation. He simply could not go to sleep. It could be the growth spurts too. I didn't realize how much he had grown over the summer until we went to Open House last night. He is taller now than some of the kids in his class that he was shorter than at the end of the school year in May.

I guess having to buy a size 12 shorts when we wore an 8 last year should have given me a clue. But I suppose I just don't want to admit he is growing up. I told him he looks very smart and much older in his new glasses.

Please keep him in your prayers if you think of it, that he will not have any seizures at school this year. He's excited to have some old friends in his class again and we are thrilled with his new teacher. I'm off to pick him up! I can't wait to see how his first day of Third Grade was.

See you tomorrow for Then Sings My Soul.
Blessings to you,
Amy

Girl, me too. My oldest is in 3rd grade this year also. Time goes by sooo fast. It just reminds me to savor every minute, because before we know it will be sending them off to college. Yikes!!

I will continue to pray for Spencer. Does he get to take Luci with him to school?

Blessings,
Jenifer

WOW Amy...praying for Spencer and this first day of school!

So sorry that the excitement triggered more little seizures!

He does look so grown up! So spiffy...is that a word anymore or who knows ever??? 3rd grade...wow

Holding him in my prayers! Already added TSMSS on my current post. It's at the end...sorry! I so look forward to Saturdays but people sneek them in on Friday and I check and wait and check & pretty soon, I'm #100...don't you wish? Not me, I like it just like it is!
Bless you! Still can't believe that school has started again. Isn't it too hot???

he'll have a gr8 year...and he is VERY HANDSOME in his new shorts! My little one just turned 16 and is driving, without me! This is truly a whole new place for me in "trusting". She's been a good listener and has worked hard on her driving...now, to pray over all the cars she will be driving around, beside, etc., etc. (oh, funny, I just had a flash of Yul Brenner in King and I, saying his etc., etc, etc....yup, that's me, just can't pray over her enough.
And I'll be praying over Spencer, too!

Prayers for this growth spurt and the onset of a new school year. Those growing spurts can be very expensive....food, clothes, and our mommy hearts too.
